Blocking/filtering gmails?

We are dealing with a very difficult situation and need some advice about how to handle one aspect of it. It has become necessary to limit communication with someone and we need to know how best to do it. My questions are:
If you set up a filter which forwards a gmail to another address, will it go straight to the new address and not show up on the old one or will it just go to both addresses - the one it was originally sent to and the one it is forwarded to?
If we set up a filter that archives the messages, will the recipient get any indication that a message was sent?
If you block an email will the sender know?
The ideal situation is for the email not to show up on the recipients phone, but still be viewable if necessary. The emails are causing great distress, but could be useful later and monitoring by a third party would be helpful. It's also important that we try to avoid triggering further action if we can.
Many thanks.

You could use a filter to mark the messages as read and move them to a folder so they're still available in future but out of the way.
Don't know about the other questions - set one up and see.0
