Decided to switch after comparisons. Not yet completed - they have just asked for a meter reading - but comms have been OK so far.
  • Successfully switched from Bristol Energy to Enstroga couple of months ago - switch was smooth and troublefree - had a couple of conversations with there sales people - calls were answered promptly, queries answered with no problems

Absolutely horrible. Avoid them at all costs. Switching took weeks, because they didn't reply the messages I sent. First, the link to set up the account didn't work. I've been trying to get in touch for weeks, sent countless messages and the only reply I got was a welcome email with a quote, which I never requested. I called them several times. After 6 min they ask you to leave your number, but they never call back. In the end they estimated my meter readings with the prev. company, but it's probably massively far out as it's a new meter. Of course this didn't stop them from taking the first direct debit off. I've been with quite a few energy providers and Enstroga is the most incompetent by far. I'd switch, but I'd be charged the cancellation fee. A horrible company.
  • Filled out the on line form for a switch quote but no reply after a week. I have sent a message to their contact point to say forget it.
Maybe they are oversubscribed but got a bad feeling so will switch to someone else.
Assume as I have not received a quote that will be the end of it.

I emailed them for quote a few weeks back and it took 10 days for reply.....by which time i'd found out eversmart welcome home tariff was a fixed 12 month so went with them instead

Yes, I did exactly the same thing a couple of weeks ago. No response at all to my reply to their quote by asking them to ring me.

Do Eversmart require you to have a smart meter, if so what sort (make)

Having a smart meter is a personal choice and you cannot be forced to have one. Just let them know you don't want it!

Unless your tariff contractually obliges you to have one of course.
  • After spending over half an hour on the phone getting a detailed quote, I wrote down all figures and confirmed with the person on the phone that this was the FULL COST per month, and there would be no further charges. I was assured that this would be the case, so I signed up to change supplier. An short time later I received a welcome e-mail, with all the figures in it (which I had requested). They came out just way way cheaper than I have been paying - £30 pm, as opposed to £62 pm.

However, after looking at what they assured me on the phone I'd be charged, and what they were actually planning to charge me, the figures they quoted were much higher than what they promised. I would now be paying in the region of £90 a month - 30% higher than the new tariff with my current supplier. I sent 2 e-mails to cancel, which they ignored. I made 6 phone cals to cancel, which took over an hour in total on the phone - 3 of these calls they put the phone dow when I got through. It actually took me 2 days to get this cancelled. I explained to the chap that I had been blatantly lied to and given way lower figures than they intended to charge me. He did not sound surprised and just said, "Sorry about that'. Don't do it - they are fraudsters!
  • I am switching to Enstroga but after trying to call them 9 times and twice by email without reply, I am trying to cancel my switch and move to someone else.

If anyone is thinking of switching to Enstroga and likes to speak with anyone in customers services, don't!! Switch to someone else.
