  • I wonder if anyone from MSE could say whether another collective switch is planned soon? My switch last year is coming to an end soon and I wonder if another is planned?

Yorkshire energy were there last month - that's how I found it. Why was it removed?

Perhaps because their Green Seahorse - Fixed tariff was removed from sale to new customers w.e.f. 16-Aug-2018?

But I see that was only launched on 13-Aug-2018, so perhaps it was the removal of their Green Butterfly Fixed tariff that was removed that day?

Yorkshire Energy have other newer tariffs now. I thought Cheap Energy Club was supposed to be comprehensive and impartial.

The link those refer to are just conjecture. I'd like to hear it from MSE themselves. MSE make a point of being very transparent and not being swayed by kickbacks or affiliate links.

It seems that the best course of action though is to use multiple comparison sites.

    1.
an opinion or conclusion formed on the basis of incomplete information.
The only incomplete information in that thread appears to be the obvious lack of display of the suppliers & tariffs by the MSE CEC specified in that thread

You appear to have identified another example above or maybe they just haven't got around to updating the details of the new tariff released less than a week ago.
The link I provided is several months old now, and the information is still not there, I understand.

MSE staff generally, let alone those who specifically work on the CEC, are far too busy to read each and every post on this forum, so if you want a response from MSE directly, I would urge you contact them directly using the method they advise. (they still might not respond, but at least you will know they have received your query) :)

The incomplete information is that nobody from MSE has given a definitive answer - and you're just guessing.

There does not appear to be any method to contact MSE - that I can find at least.

If you look 3/4 down the cheap energy club page they list their sister company moneysupermarket.com as the technology partner so I assume all data is fed from them

MoneySupermarket bought MSE some years ago (making Martin a fairly wealthy man) - and MSE is part of the group - though they do claim to be editorially independent.

I just did a like-for-like energy comparison between moneysupermarket and cheap energy club - and they were substantially different in their output.

EDIT: Just tried with different options - and they are now pretty much identical - so they must be using the same data. They are also magically show Yorkshire Energy again. Result.
  • Degsy24... If you look at my earlier post I suspect you are looking at different tariffs. The Easy Online Renewal tariff which is the one that you would have been sent directly from EDF is not shown on the MSE site. They do show the Easy Online Exclusive tariff which has a similar name but more expensive - about £100 a year more for me.
