If the other exit doesn't have a camera, then that's pretty important for your appeal.
  • Please could someone advise I parked at a Services waiting for my child to be dropped off from holiday near Stanstead the plane was delayed and I parked there for 3 hours 22 mins - I have now received a £100 parking fine? Is this legitimate as it seems so excessive? Someone told me that this is not legally binding and I should ignore it but am a bit worried to do so. Thank you

    Good evening John

I hope you're well and thank you for your email to Roger.

My name is Iain and I'm a member of Roger's Executive Relations Team and will be responding to you directly.

I'm really sorry to read this John and it certainly appears as though there has been a system/technical error that has caused this. I apologise for the inconvenience.

I have processed a cancellation for this so please don't worry. If you do receive a further letter please discard this as letters may have been pre planned.

Take care John and If there is anything else I can help with please don't hesitate to get back in touch with me.

    lol

where do they dream up these stupid job titles from ? , surely its a P.A. job ?

I wouldnt be discarding any letters yet either, I would be keeping them for a considerable amount of time , up to 6 years in fact (along with all the correspondence etc too) - in a file

in theory you will get a cancellation from PE themselves , so await that and dont let it slide , chase it up on their enforcement email address if necessary and keep it safe when it arrives

its worth noting that if you see a PE parking sign, its probably 98% certain that they are using ANPR and not parking "wardens"

meaning there are cameras, as there are in most places nowadays

my opinion , assume that cameras exist unless proved to the contrary, wherever you are ( even in the "conveniences , lol , ask Chuck Berry )

Nice result, nice complaint. Needs reporting to your local Trading Standards as a scam though, it's not a 'system error' it is a scam and/or negligent camera placing.

Can you tell us which Asda, town and road this is, in case anyone else suffers the same and doesn't realise what you realised?

Derby Road, Derby - from the thumbnail pic in post #6.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
