Every house has its advantages and disadvantages but I,d steongky put at the top of must Must Have list, those issues which will impact most on my daily life in terms of advantages or irritations.

Not being able to park a car on my own driveway would be a major negative. Imagine having to lug your weekly Sainsburys shopping purchases from a car parked half a mile away in the pouring rain after a hard day at work. Or the equipment needed for a small baby. Or several heavy bags of compost if you're a keen gardener.!

If the floor plan is accurate there isn't a back door so still a bit of a trek. It is also probably private ground so if he needed permission to use it that could stop at some point.

I just came back to post this. I'd mentioned it to my husband and he literally couldn't give two figs if he had to walk a bit to his car. We used to walk almost a mile with shopping bags before we got our car anyway. The OP's son is unlikely to want to be bringing up a family in that home so a buggy won't be a factor. Presuming this isn't his forever home then I see no reason to not live in it for X amount of years and just walk a bit then sell it for more of a family home later if needed.
