What time are keys ready on day of completion

We complete today - first time buyers buying a no chain property. What time should we get the keys at, solicitor is saying 2pm as stated in the contract - I thought it was lunch time?

Keys won't be released until money it is confirmed that money has been paid.
When we did it, the person with the keys (builder in this case) had to call the office who checked the money had come over.
I don't think you'll get an exact time in advance as it's probably a manual checking process.0 -
2pm is kinda lunchtime, surely? They'll be released whenever completion happens. Bank transfers need to be done and solicitors need to make phone calls. Have patience.0

You won't get the keys until the transaction is complete. Once your solicitor has told you that everything is done, you can go and get the keys ( as long as your vendors have made them available, ours didn't!).It's not difficult!

Ours were released by the EA at just before lunchtime when they had confirmed that our money had been transferred to the seller and both solicitors were happy with the transaction.0

2:00pm is lunchtime for some people!
The time stated in the contract is usually 2:00pm.
The money may clear earlier than this, but the vendors (if they're still occupying the property) may not have vacated. Or the money may arrive later.0 -
It varies.
In my case there was a long chain so money had to be passed by bank transfer from seller to seller.
Keys were released at 5.45.
Removals men were annoyed but used to this.0 -
I class lunch time as 12pm :rotfl:
3pm for me today.
I remember getting the call from the E.A. inviting me to collect the keys approx mid day. There were presented on a velvet cushion! Putting YOUR keys in YOUR front door for the first time is an amazing milestone. OP enjoy the moment and congratulations and your first purchased property.0 -
We got ours at 4pm after waiting two hours outside our new house, which was thankfully empty at that point!
It takes as long as it takes for the money to proceed up the chain. Patience is key
