And !!!!!! is with starting posts with "so". Just stop it.
Maybe you should if you don't have anything useful to post.

So, I see only one post by the OP starting with So.

So, perhaps it's sometimes best to keep some thoughts inside your head rather than speak them...

it is annoying nowadays though how many people start a sentence with a needless "so" just watch any BBC news programme.

Whack the car reg into WBAC, Evans Halshaw, ebay and autotrader, get a realistic quote for what a car of that condition is worth and compare it to GMV - you do not have to give it back to the dealer and accept their price - they are pricing it up for resale to make a profit, you may well get better price going private and selling it then paying off the finance

My GMV was around £8700 or so. Looking on ebay I can already see trade price for the same model/condition as mine for that much or more - a couple around £10500-£11000

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

could the pcp be ended via vt as that is a statutory rather than contractual way of handing the car back? i have heard it just needs to be returned in 'reasonable' condition and would over-ride contractual clauses relating to mileage and servicing

I was going to suggest the same, check the VT figure on your finance documents, if you've paid enough already to VT then look to doing that.

No they aren't it will most likely go straight to auction, the finance co own it not the dealer.

A VT "might" avoid paying excess mileage charges (which isn't relevant in this case) but it wont avoid charges from not servicing the vehicle correctly as this can easily be argued as failing to take "reasonable care of the goods".

This is simply not true. As mentioned the GMV is reflection of the real value of the car at the end of the agreement, it is not artificially set to prvide a profit to the dealer, it's the finance co. that owns the car, the dealer has no interest in it.
