and what happened could have happened with every airline, including Virgin Atlantic

Given recent history... especially on Virgin Atlantic; plenty of people have had their booking messed around with Virgin recently due to late aircraft changes.
  • I have complained and went to the top.. we still are no better off.. I wont ever be booking with them again..

    What was their response ?

Were 4 of the seats in row 1?
Are any of the children under 14?

I'm not familiar with Jet2 but I'd have thought they would have tried to charge more then £12 for the bulkhead seats.

if it has been swapped to G-VYGL interesting plane :-)

Departure and Arrival Airport info might help.

Just flown with Jet2 for the first time. I was actually pleasantly surprised. Always used Monarch in the past and booked the day after Monarch's sad demise.

Legroom is better than Monarch's was. The ground staff were very friendly and efficient. The plane was new.

Lots of pre-recorded messages throughout the flight though. Could have done without those. Some people clapped when the plane landed. Not experienced that before.

Landings in Madeira prior to the runway being extended, regularly brought forth clapping!

I remember people clapping used to be a thing back in the 80's.

I've been flying (scheduled and chartered) since 1969 and never come across it before.

Was that back when they used to leave the door to the flight deck open so you could see through the windscreen?

It was prior to whenever they extended the runway, ten fifteen years?

I remember that too. The pilot used to do a meet and greet during the flight where he would walk up and down asking passengers if they were enjoying the flight.

I went on a few flights back then where everyone clapped as it landed. This was all package holidays though.
