Suggestion for a simple landline supplier?

Currently paying BT approximately £25 a month for a simple landline without broadband. Not sure exactly what package we are on as we haven't received any bills for a number of years but guess that we don't make many calls on this line.

Can't you go online to see your past bills and thus work out what package you are on? BT, amongst others offers a landline only i.e. no broadband package which will be cheaper than what you pay now.0 -
if you are on benefits look up BT Basic. Very good value if you qualify.
I think BT should bring bills down soon for phone only users. £15 ish ?0 -

BT Home Phone Saver is £21.99 per month including line rental, unlimited anytime calls to 01, 02 and 03 numbers and unlimited calling features. The price is fixed until 2021. The deal also includes calls to 0845 and 0870 numbers. You cannot have BT Broadband if you have the Home Phone Saver deal.
Various Home Phone Saver deals have been offered over the last four or five years. They represent a reduced line rental and BT buried them on their website such that very few people noticed them or signed up.
Ofcom has recently forced a reduction in line rental for all other BT landline-only customers on other call plans and this took effect several months ago. The ordinary Line Rental plus Unlimited Anytime deal is the same price as HPS but without the guarantee of a fixed price until 2021, and any additional calling features are chargeable.
The Line Rental plus Evening and Weekend calls, or Line Rental plus Weekend calls, deals have a lower initial monthly charge but calls made during the week cost 21p per call (soon to be 23p per call) plus 13p per minute (soon to be 15p per minute), i.e. much more than £9 per hour, and do not represent value for money.0 -

Assuming you originally set one up, it's normally your email address for the u/n. Then do a password reset.
If you didn't set one up, then register from scratch. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Explanation and sources please! It's just a landline service and I know of 2 elderly people who have used it for >12 months without problems. OP is looking for a low cost service and this is a Money Saving forum, is it not?I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

When its working fine, TT are OK when it goes wrong they are a nightmare. Ex TT customer speaking from experience.
I'm all for money saving but there are times when others maybe a bit more expensive but are justified.

Just had a look and the only drawback I can see is - "Paper billing available at £1.50 per bill". I could understand them charging the price of a stamp but this is a bit excessive for printing a piece of paper and putting it in an envelope.0
