Minster Baywatch took me to court!

Finedforwhat, you now need to edit your post #9 - that's the ninth post on this thread - to remove all clues to the driver's identity.
It was the driver who parked the car.
It is the keeper that has received the Court Claim Form.
There is no place for the word 'I' when describing events on the day.
It would also be good if you were to turn off Smart Punctuation on your iPhone, or at least edit your posts to remove those spurious characters. Help others to help you.0 -
Watch the video, see what you are up against. If you do not want to pay them you will have to learn the rules of the game you have joined.
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the House of Commons recently

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

I wrote the sticky thread to stop us drowning in threads shouting 'heeeelp, what do I do?' where people had done no research, and read no threads.
When you have read the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread, come back to ask questions that you are confused about. We will then gladly help again.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Why are you asking about witness statements, you are nowhere near that stage yet.
If you have read my walk-through of the process in post #2 of the NEWBIES sticky thread, you should know that, having done the Acknowledgement of Service stating that you intend to defend the claim in full, you should now be drafting your Defence.
There are some examples linked in there, so you need to find one that best suits the facts of your case, and adapt it accordingly - don't just blindly copy a 'template' and hope for the best.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -
Before you go over to the Newbies thread, you have 19 days from the date on the claim form to Acknowledge BUT you must acknowledge within those 19 days.
It has also been suggested you get a template so before you do and then come back and ask "is this the correct one", what is the background to getting the ticket in the first place. The background decides which approach is the most likely to win.

It is in the post you have been directed to. If you don't understand it please ask.0
