A heart attack is indeed related to the heart, not sure why you have been told otherwise. They are usually caused by blockages in the arteries within the chambers of the heart, although the clot itself may originate elsewhere in the body.0 -

It was an artery coming from the heart. The consultant actually told my mum (then aged 81) that her heart was in great conditon and better than that of many people half her age. The problem that caused my mum's heart attack was a blockage in an artery, not the actual heart itself. This came from a consultant at a hospital that specialises in heart surgery.0 -
She died of aortic and mitral valve disease which is inside the heart. Not an atrety somewhere else.
So it was heart related. And surely an ecg test would have detected this problem unless it only happened in the last 12 hours of her life.

Yes like listening to someone saying a heart attack isn't heart related.
Yorkshireman do one you have been someone in the past who hasn't really contributed positively to previous posts but rather been quite critical of me.
Are you a psychologist. You know how rude it is to not know someone yet tell them they need professional help because they want answers.
My post was for people in similar position or past experience of meetings and what to expect. Not lectures about accepting a death and moving on.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Firstly I think this thread was posted initially in the wrong forum...I've always assumed this forum was for queries related to wills & the management of estates.
Secondly I think this thread needs to be locked ....just because the OP doesn't like the responses being given doesn't justify being rude to a member that gives invaluable advice.

Mitral valve disease is usually something you have from birth.
I think you need to go and talk to the medical team for these answers, and please be prepared to actually listen.
I also think counselling would be a really good idea and help you a lot, that's not an insult, counselling helps lots of people who've had a traumatic bereavement. Please do consider it, you could start by calling Cruse for some information: https://www.cruse.org.uk/0 -

to be a classic one of not wanting advice but someone to agree with you. I am sorry you feel that my actual first hand experience is not helpful. All I can say is that it was freely given and with the honest wish that it would help you.i have met many people in your sort of situation and have been able to, in a small way, help them. Please remember that the people giving answers on this forum do it voluntarily and with all goodwill not to put people down. Unfortunately the advice given may be hard to accept but that is life.0 -

It's "Deaths, Funerals and Probate" and this comes under the first one.
In theory this forum is a sub-forum of the Adultery and Anxiety forum (aka Marriage, Relationship and Families) but it attracts a much more technical audience than its parent as most of the questions are legal / financial. Nonetheless I would say this is the right forum - at least I can't think of an alternative.0
