Hi . My eldest is in brazil doing a uni course . If i where to send hin a uk data only pay as you go sim . Would he get landed with roaming charges as it is data .
I se an app that pays out in amazon vouchers so the cost for me is next to nothing but posting or isa local network sim i could get him.

Most networks here would charge at quite high rates, though I notice Brazil is on Three's list of countries where roaming costs no extra.

However Three's terms expect people to be here most of the time and not abroad for long continuous periods, so I think it would be better for him to investigate local SIM cards.

They are intended for visits, not long term use. After continued use outside the UK they get switched off. The time limit is in each networks T&C's.

YES! tell him to get a local Sim

Depending the reason for the UK SIM requirement (e.g. is it so he / you can contact each other for lower than it'd cost if he got a local SIM) it might be possible to use WhatsApp calling or some of the built in iPhone voice / video calling for free (or at least no more cost than using standard data within the country).
