Price fluctuation for car parts

If you were quoted by a garage a car part that cost in the region of £450 in April 2017, and today's price was quoted £234, is this price fluctuation typical ?

    Yes, huge differences in the prices of car parts depending on manufacturer and where you buy them.

    Depends on the part, and market forces.
    Once the Eastern factories start knocking out their OEM parts at a fraction of manufacturer prices, sometimes prices do come down.
    I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

    (except air quality and Medical Science ;))
