Nothing ever runs smoothly...
Brittany Ferries have announced they're shortly going to recommence sailings - but have drastically reduced the number of sailings for the summer (a bit stupid when demand is still going to be high). They've also cut three of the ships from the roster - one of those being the one we're booked on (and fully paid for). They say they'll be contacting those affected in due course and look to arrange an alternative sailing, but the problem we have is that payment for our accommodation in France is due at the end of the week.
At this stage, we don't know if we'll be able to get there. But villa accommodation in France has seen a surge in demand and it's hard now to get any decent property at a decent price so we don't want to give this one up that we booked way back in January.
I'm happy to amend the sailing with Brittany to another route - although there are now no overnight sailings with a dog cabin on the Friday and a daytime sailing would make it awkward only arriving in France mid-afternoon with a 300 mile drive to follow. The issue is that you can't amend your booking online to another route, and as other posts have noted, they won't accept phone calls. I've sent them a written note via their contact section and asked if they will treat this urgently given my particular pressing need for clarification but don't hold out much hope for a quick response. Our options are reduced by absolutely needing a dog-friendly cabin as we won't leave the dog in a kennel and she'd chew through the seats. handles, dashboard, etc if we left her in the car.
What are others' experiences of getting replies to submitted queries during the current situation? Do Brittany respond promptly? It says on their site up to 45 days - but our sailing is in 30 days. Does anyone know another way of contacting them more directly?
It had all been planned so well, too. It's so annoying.

Perhaps try engaging with them via one of their social media channels. Contact via Facebook or Twitter may gain their attention and a quicker response than traditional email or a letter.0

We have a ferry booked to return to the UK on 2 July. However, we were never able to get abroad due to the Coronavirus and the suspension of travel services. So, we will not be using the crossing on Thursday. We have informed them but as they have cut off their phone lines and do not answer emails, or reply to their website contact forms, what is one to do. We won't be travelling on Thursday and there is noone to communicate with. We are unable to amend our booking as the timetable only goes up to November and as my husband is 70 and diabetic, we will not be travelling this year. If only Brittany Ferries would make contact with its customers. It is an absolute disgrace.0

Does the ferry ticket permit changes or refunds? If a cheaper non-refundable crossing ticket was purchased and the crossing is still operating then there is no obligation on Brittany Ferries to amend or refund. You will be reliant on their goodwill.
A claim on your travel insurance might be another option.0
