Three Outstanding Payment After Contract Cancellation Question

Hello,
I planned to get a month of Mi-fi data last month (early July). After coming to a Three store, the person there suggested a mi-fi monthly contract and cancelling it before the next automatic payment enrolled after a month. I contacted their CS on the third week of July to cancel as suggested, and after a long argument with "I just want to cancel" repeatedly, the person receiving my call agreed to cancel the contract. Early this month the SIM card hasn't been working anymore, but there is no deducted bill yet in my bank account.
This morning I obtain a letter about an outstanding payment request from 3. I wary if I just pay what they ask they will single-handedly think that I agree to continue the plan (which I don't). Is there any procedure to know that I won't get to ask for payment anymore after paying this one before paying?
Thanks.

Assuming this was a 30 day rolling contract, you gave 30 days notice in July, therefore a payment for August will be needed...
Looks like you cancelled your direct debit, not a good idea. You need to pay up or suffer a default on your credit rating.0 -
Yes, should be it. I'm ready to pay this month's but just ensuring no more charges.
Thanks!0
