So right now we're paying about 60 a month for virgin (100/10) and we're living in the falkirk area and the price of internet is pretty high that my mom is uncomfortable with it, and we want to cut that down a considerable amount without wrecking our internet
i tend to like to stream my games or maybe some art, and my mum uses the TV regularly for her shows and such, so we might need a decent speed (i was wanting 30 - 50 mbps), ideally i could make do with a 30 Down 3Mb up
we've enquired to virgin about lower prices, but we get much lower speeds for not much extra off, and i think maybe we could get a better deal with another provider ?
We've been thinking about plusnet since we hear quite a good amount about them but i wanna search around to be sure. i dont mind buying the modem if needs be but what i want is
- Reliability, which virgin has been great with
- Decent speeds (30-50 mbps, but needing 3-5 mbps upload)
- No cost raising frizz
and ideally at about 20-35 a month, ideally maybe 30

Sorry to double post, but im seeing plusnet has the 40/10 deal for 23.99 a month which is ideal for us.
should i enquire?0 -
Get quotes from plusnet and bt for the same service you are getting from Virgin. Make a note of everything.
See what deal Virgin are offering new customers.
Ring Virgin and say you are going to leave unless they can offer you the same deal as plusnet or BT or the same deal they offer new customers.
They will offer you a lower price but still too high. Tell them it's not enough and you need to save money. If they won't budge - leave and sign up with one of the others.
Be polite but firm.0 -

You will need the faster Fibre up to 76 meg.
Deals are usually the slower fibre .
- No cost raising frizz
Not sure what that means but majority have T&C that allows price increase .
Point to note you are using VM optics giving 100/10.
No BT OR provider can match that if you can get fibre .Neither would the actual speed to your house be known until used .0 -
As long as you're relatively close to the street cabinet standard fibre would be more than fine for your requirements.
An effective £16.67 a month for NowTV at the moment for an (average) 36Mbps DL & 9Mbps DL speed.
