I've been quoted £450 to have my bath toilet and sink replaced (staying in the same place) and a new shower fitted (this is being moved from an end of the bath to the middle.
is that supply and fit?

No that's just for the work, I'm supplying the rest.
This is the bathroom suite from here (I want a big bath so I can get the shoulders and knees under the water at the same time and this was one of a few places that stocked them or rather could get them at a decent price :-

Shower from ebay :-

This is £40 cheaper than another ebay seller for the same shower.
Tiles, well I've not decided on those yet and if anyone can give me details of an online retailer that would be great.0 -
Thanks for the above. It just completely confirms that this plumber was taking the !!!!. Still awaiting another quote, and there's a possibility of getting a third one.
The problem is that all these boyos are booked for the next 2-3 months and think they can charge what they want. What they have quoted for 2 weeks work is more than my hubby and I bring home in 2 months!!!0 -

Please, keep us informed about the results of the works: the quality of the jos is the same cheap as the quote?
Will do. I've got a start date of the 7th of December for getting the bathroom suite fitted, that's taking that it comes from the manufacturer in time.
As for the tiling work, he did a friends house and that's how I got his details and I have to say it's beautiful and very well done.
Fingers crossed it's the same for me.0 -

our plumber who is not the cheapest around but very good is going to put in new toilet & basin/vanity unit where old ones were, bath in same place but taps are to be wall mounted & towel radiator on opposite wall to where the old rad was so extra pipes & he said it'll be between 350-5000

I need a stiff drink!
How about this for a quote:
1. We remove our bathroom suite, tiles and tongue and groove ceiling for free. We supply all goods.
Plumber installs quad shower (moving pipes from a stud wall to solid wall just beside), freestanding bath, sink and toilet (all in same positions as previously so no extra plumbing) and a towel rail radiator ( involving moving pipes from coming vertically from floor to out of stud wall, but same wall position). Plumber plasters walls/ceiling but no tiles or tiling. Room 2.5x2.3m. Extractor fan supply/fit.
Quote £2800!!!
2. New ensuite with all new plumbing for toilet, sink and shower in bedroom(beside bathroom) and stud wall/door/skirting/plastering. Extractor fan supply/fit. We supply all white goods.
Quote £3400!!
How come only £600 difference for doing completely new plumbing and making a new room? Don't get me wrong - I think both are a rip-off, but the refit of the bathroom price is a joke.
Have another quote for the same job on the way- it better be better!!!!
New quote !
1. to include above and tiling with grout= £1825
2. to include above and tiling with grout= £4255
Still too much I think, although quote 1 is more reasonable than the 1st guy, but quote 2 seems over the top.0 -
Got another quote for plumbing only:£350 for ensuite (from scratch) and £450 for bathroom. Just need to get tiler now!!
May resort to doing it ourselves0 -

You have a PM with the details - sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you but I've now spoken to him and he said yes he will travel out of Dundee and is currently working in Montrose.0
