Make the appointment today, you probably won't get one for about a month, you can cancel it if you don't need it.0 -
Well done on taking the first step, that is always the hardest, I am sure you will get support from your partner just make sure you do stick to it this time. Keep busy, help her cook, clean, garden whatever it takes, go for a walk, have a shower, just do stuff.
When I gave up cigs (30 yrs ago) the first 6 weeks were the hardest after that it got easier but not easy....... even now sometimes a cig smells nice but more often disgusting. I expect Cannabis will be harder but it can be done, just know it will be hard, but you are stronger than any addiction so yes you can do it !! Keep up the good work xx0 -

You might need to up your vaping nicotine level for a bit, because you get a hell of a lot in an unfiltered spliff, especially as you make a point of taking it in and holding briefly with a toke.
It's not that hard, really. It's more habit than addiction - because you associate it with coming in, sitting down and chilling out after work (both the routine and the smell), it'll probably feel a bit weird, especially if you end up with far more energy and less desire to eat biscuits. Cutting down on caffeine/coffee/Red Bull, especially at night, will help if it's harder to go to sleep, but you'll be less likely to need those in the morning to get you going properly in any case.
You might have a bit of a mucky cough for a while, especially if you have smoked a lot of solid, and you'll get more of a sensitive nose for smells - you'll be able to tell from at least ten foot if somebody has smoked one in the last day, cars that go by and, worst of all, small children will carry the smell on their clothes. I worked with sixth formers for a couple of years and found out I've got the nose of a sniffer dog where it comes to weed, right down to how long ago, what type and exactly where they put it (which pocket, bag, etc) to hide it/whether it's still on them or whether it was at the weekend.
That's the problem, really - apart from the cost, illegality, health issues and being a lazy couch potato with a slow uptake, if you come into contact with anybody who has ever been around it or smoked it themselves, they can tell. Which means Police will take longer to do checks, sniffer dogs will mark you even if you don't have anything on you (they're used at train stations, shopping centres, festivals, gigs, anywhere they feel like it these days) and clients/employers will know.
It's just not worth it - and actually feeling clearheaded, vaguely energetic, with about fifty quid more in your pocket and not having to worry about the bloke with a dog running along a queue, is a far better life.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll1 -
Ask yourself what you will lose in terms of the relationship with your partner, and how you and your smoking environment, smells and appears to someone else.
Cannabis is addictive: it's the THC in it that causes that. Nicotine: I gave up a 40 a day habit at 32, that's 41 years ago. I used my own willpower. A non-smoking gf once told me that kissing a smoker was like licking a dirty ashtray.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Deffo talk to your GP, they will have info at their fingertips about who is best to speak to or they can refer you on.0

Try something active and calming - like yoga. Don't do it myself, but know it could be very beneficial in your circumstances. You don't even need a class - plenty on youtube or DVD.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0

Also, add up what you've spent on weed this year...imagine what else you could have spent it on, and then imagine what you could spend this extra money on in the future.
That may not be any ncentive though but you can certainly see what your habit costs you.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
