The one problem I had with my gambling addiction (I go to GA meetings) was figuring out what 'normal people' do differently to me!

The story you just told us is a mirror image of the sort of stuff I've done in the past. Namely, investing an insane amount of time and effort into something like this!

I personally think that a 'normal punter' would more simply put on a bet and let it stand as per the rules. There would be no sleep lost over this, and certainly no emotional aspects to it. Customer service wouldn't have been contacted, except only to query what happens to the bet.

That's why I choose to abstain from gambling.

Bookies would not let you void a bet just because you changed your mind after you placed the bet.If everyone did that it would be chaos.
