BT number to Sky - different account holders

All,
I'm currently the account holder for the BT at my parents house. They've got a reasonable broadband and basic TV package. I've always had the account since I lived there and paid it and other bills as my contribution.
Anyway, the old man fancies getting sky for a bit (not being able to watch much cricket) and the new customer offers are better than anything BT are offering now the latest contract period is over. Plus, there are some good cashback amounts.
If he signs up to Sky under his name and tries to transfer the phone number over - is this going to cause issues because the BT account is in my name? They've had the same landline number since they moved there 25 years ago.
