S.Ericsson W810i wanted o2 may go Tmobile - info needed plz

I wanted to purchase the Sony ericsson W810i on the what was O2 promotion at £59.99. I rang o2 who told me the promotion would be on till this friday - by the time i made up my mind they had taken it off promotion and no one with authority will call me back to tell me if they will honour what their customer service rep told me (even tho they state ALL calls are recorded)

Anyway, rather miffed as I am - i am thinking maybe it would be better to purchase a tmobile one via a catalogue with a discount for new customers. Im obviously a pay as you go person and dont want a contract. I have alot of credit on my current O2 sim as i mainly text - What I would like to know is at a later date could I have this unlocked onto O2 or is this one of those awkward to unlock ones?

Any thoughts or help greatly appreciated!

all newer w810is have newer security certificates, but are still easily unlocked by a local shop

Tesco are doing the W810i for around £60 IIRC if you spend £25 on shopping. Tesco PAYG service which I'm led to believe is O2

Yeh, Tesco Mobile service is run by o2.
