I have been using FISHTEXT since 2010 (that was great) but have just been informed they are closing.:(

Does anyone know what the cheapest SIM company (or alternative similar to Fishtext) for international texting (reliable) either price per SMS text (UK to overseas) or if there is a pack of so many international texts can use?

Whatsapp/Wechat is obviously great for family and friends but not everyone has it and SMS is good for initial contact.

    FYI there's no need to create a separate thread. You've already asked the question on another. It's sometimes considered spamming and bad manners.

    Happy for admin to merge them if they feel that this is the case. Although the other topic (started by another member) was quite specific notice for 'Fishtext' and not general about 'International Texting providers' - that some members would not see unless clicking that thread and reading individual follow up posts. So thought it merited its own thread specifically.

    Did you have any information relating to this thread?

    Have just been informed about the 'TESCO CALLING APP' that seems to offer free international texts, that maybe useful for some:

    https://www.tescointernationalcalling.com/calling-app/

    You can receive these great benefits when you download the app;
    £1 free credit when you download so you can start calling straight away
    Call family and friends in over 200 countries from 1p per minute
    Send international texts for FREE
    No connection fee when you use the app
    High quality calls
    Easy to use; automatically syncs your contacts
    Check your balance and destination rates
    UK call centre
    Calls to the 03 access number are free for Tesco Mobile customers

    Plus receive these rewards for using the app;
    Earn free credit when you refer your friends
    Collect Clubcard points when you top-up
    Enjoy special offers to popular destinations

    One important point about your top up:

    When does the top-up expire?

    The top-up expires 180 days after applying it to your App.
    If you top-up within the 180 days, then the 180 days resets from that date.
    If you reach 180 days without topping up, then you will lose remaining credit.

    Thank you for tip

    Tesco is free, but you must top up every 6 months with minimum £3

    so its 50p a month for international texting
