Cats cover their own mess. And they are highly unlikely to use hard surfaces as toilets anyway.

Not when they 5h1t on my lawn:mad:

Sadly cats do not always do that! I know that for certain because my two little hooligans don't! What has been described does sound like cat poo to me. Whatever you do, OP, do not plant catmint thinking it will deter the cats - you'll have the whole cat community in your garden instead of just one.

Not always the case with cats. I used to have one who would on occasion poo in the bath.

If it happens again take some photos and post them, maybe someone can identify the animal type?

Never, did I think I would join in an online forum to talk poo!

    Is it Hedgehog poo?

Cats will return to their 'toilet' so you need to break the process. Clean up and spray with menthol or citrus. Don't even have a cat but there are loads round here and I found out they don't like Vicks or Deep Heat.

Does not have to be a stray.

Unfortunately a lot of animals will return to the same place once they have done it once. I had a similar issue and tried pepper, bleach, various things from the pet shop / garden centre and nothing worked. Then I got a cat alarm. It has a sensor so when something walks by and breaks the beam a high pitch alarm goes off. It worked.
