These statistics are almost totally meaningless.
1) Cancelled flights are excluded - if your flight is cancelled you will be hours late.
2) Lateness on departure is far less important than lateness on arrival
3) Averaging the lateness just serves to hide the worst delays.
It would be much more useful to see a figure showing the percentage of all flights (including cancelled flights) arriving within 15 minutes of schedule.0 -

So cheaper airlines are often less reliable - but can cost less than one quarter of the fare compared to the premium airlines who topped the survey on the same route. You pay your money and take your chance.0
