Spacing between paragraphs

The forum seems to add additional space between paragraphs in my posts. Here's an example (post no 4)

If I edit a post I can remove the additional returns and save so that the spacing is correct. I'm using a Windows 10 PC and Firefox if that makes a difference.
Any advice on how to avoid this?

Thank you. Yes I can do that but there must be some coding problem causing MSE to sometimes insert extra returns.
I see that it happens to some other posters so presumably it is connected to how individual computers and/or their browsers communicate with MSE.
Edit: Here's an example with two additional returns above.0
