Just checking in, am a bit jaded today due to some neighbours having a party, still noisy at 4. 30.
Thinking of those of us who are unwell or worriedI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Nannywindow, thanks for the mention yesterday.
There are several reasons I have only been lurking not posting - a bit embarrassed that I rarely get up early
; frustrated that there is nothing I can do to help all the poorlies and/or their families; slightly ‘nervous’ that life & health is generally being quite generous to me and mine & I might come across as a bit ‘boastful’ - not quite the correct word but language occasionally fails me
However, today is a new bright, sunny & hot day and I will endeavour to post daily
To all of you who are struggling with illness or caring for poorlies, I am sending gentle hugs and positive vibes. I admire your fortitude and am a bit scared that I would not manage as well as any of you.
To those of you struggling with the heat, I hope you can find relief & a cool spot to hide. I must admit to loving the heat (probably the Italian ancestry :rotfl:) & now that we have garden furniture (my DSis’s brought back from France :T) I spend as much time as possible out in the garden reading & drinking copious amounts of hot/cold or alcoholic ‘hic’ drinks as possible :rotfl: Unfortunately that is to the detriment of the housework & decluttering :rotfl: but rainy days will see to that :rotfl:
To those of you who are not getting sunshine, I hope that the rain etc stops soon
DSis has settled in but is not enjoying the heat - bear in mind that she lived in SW France for over 20 years :rotfl: - she obviously didn’t get many of the Italian genes
plus she did live in a large farmhouse with stone floors & thick stone walls so could go indoors to cool off properly
not so easy in a small carpeted house
DH has had a couple of trips out on his motorbike just to get away from two women in the house :rotfl: & has been busy putting in a base for the new shed which is arriving on the 14th. I cannot tell you how excited I am :rotfl: :rotfl: DSis has been assisting & using her car to get supplies of gravel, paint etc & I have been ‘supervising’ :rotfl: & providing beverages
Today DSis & I went to the Farmers Market in the local park, leaving DH to watch the motorcycle GP qualifying for tomorrow’s races. Thought it would be bigger but hey ho I still managed to lighten my purse considerably :rotfl: Funny thing - there is outdoor Gym equipment in the park :rotfl: who knew - I have only lived here nearly 20 years :rotfl:
DH & DSis are off shortly to pick up the decorative gravel from Wic*es so I might throw the hoover around downstairs :rotfl: or I might just sit in the garden drinking peppermint tea :rotfl:
20 mins later ..................
Have vacuumed downstairs including moving furniture, turned sofa cushions & now back to my peppermint tea :rotfl:
Well having bored you all senseless, I bid you a fond farewell and hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Saturday

Evening all.
I visited DM and brought her all the things she asked for in five texts! She was much brighter, perkier and more mobile. Not sure if she can walk around the flat yet but certainly over a short distance she was steady and comfortable.
Before the visit I went for a swim - then remembered why I stopped swimming! I've been a swimmer all my life, from about 11 years old onwards, in both personal and professional lives. What I hate is getting dried and dressed in a hot humid atmosphere. Bra won't go on properly, neither do socks and I'm not able to get dry before the sweats start and everything sticks to me. That was after I remembered that my sore knee means I can't swim breaststroke and my sore back means I can't swim front crawl. I can swim back crawl, which is my 'best' stroke, but it means causing chaos for those not easily able to get out of the way of me swimming in a straight line backwards. :rotfl:
I will go again!
Then I went into Glasgow to do some banking business at V irgin Money - what chaos there is. George Square closed off, buses not going anywhere near to George Square, other streets closed of because of fires, thousands of visitors wandering around slowly whilst pointing up at interesting buildings! :rotfl: And the statue of the Duke of Wellington had two traffic cones on, one on him (normal)and one on his horse (not normal).
Had enough for today... :j0 -
taplady welcome back keep writing in
Nice to 'see' an old friend again.
I have had a super day out in London with my Dds ma-in-law and we sorted the world out with copious amounts of food and tea, and fish and chips for dinner tonight
Nelski you are more than welcome to the heat, its getting far too uncomfortable down 'sarf at the moment.
Last night when I picked my DGS Jack up from his mates party at 11.30 it was 25c and I needed the air con on in the car as the humidity was 'orrible.
Just going to try and chill outin front of the fan now and have a loooong cold drink
<<hugs>> to the poorly and worried
