One of these days, I will get a £1.50 veg box at Lidl. Though always have bananas and swede in them. Two of the few fruit and veg I don't like0

Bought one this morning and very pleased with the price/contents.0

Rarely see them in my local Lidl but, when they are available, most of the items are beyond their best, it’s fair to say. Doesn’t appear to be the same in all of the stores.0

I haven't been shopping so regularly in lockdown but today went to Lidl to take advantage of their cheap red wine offer. Sadly they had run out until tomorrow, but even at 5pm they had several waste not £1.50 boxes left. Most of them were mixed fruit and veg and all of them had aubergine in, but I managed to get one box of just aubergine. 20 of them! I have managed to offload two of them but will be very busy tonight and tomorrow in processing them - dehydrating some and making a pate with the rest. I will try and look in more often as long as it's safe to do so.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

I am getting good at this! Saturday's bargain box (and there were 6 or 7 to choose from at 4pm) contained one perfectly ripe large avocado, red yellow and green peppers, 3 ripe pears, 3 large tomatoes, bunch of pink and also white grapes, three apricots, about a dozen new potatoes, about a dozen large King Edward spuds, two sweet potatoes, pak choi, and that's all I can recall. £1.50. Amazing!Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

I continue to buy a couple of these boxes each week. Every one offers surprises and always a wide choice of goodies. Today was two cauliflowers, one red onion, two lemons, one extra large avocado, large bunch of red grapes, one pear, two easy peel oranges, romaine lettuce, 9 bananas, large tomato. The avocado alone would have cost more than £1.50! I am amazed that more people, especially those struggling to feed themselves on a limited income, don't take advantage of these boxes. They aren't always worth having and they have been wilting badly recently in the heat of the large windows, but I take a cool bag and transfer them in and they revive really quickly.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

I can see that Lidl want people to buy their own full price produce first, but who eventually buys it don't seem to be the most needy. I'd rather the stuff was collected by a food bank.No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Never seen them in the relatively new Lidl close to me, and very rarely in the one nearby.0
