Sold a car

Context: what was the sale price of the car? As long as you described the car truthfully and did not mislead him about it's condition, then it's caveat emptor. As a private seller you are not even obliged to point out any known faults-it's up to the buyer to ask.
The fact that he does not even detail the alleged faults, but expects a full refund, shows that he is a scammer.
Trading Standards have no jurisdiction, as this was a private sale.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Caveat Emptor. People seem to try this scam on a regular basis. Buy a car, drive it for a month then demand a refund. Bingo a months free motoring.
Block their number.
Where did you dream that up??
The scam is trying to get some money towards "repairs". Not a months free motoring having to change insurance details every month and pay the admin fees etc0 -
Thats assuming he bothered to change his insurance
