Joining NowTV Sports for the new football season

I am intending to join NowTV for the first time in 10 days or so. But I have many unanswered questions and I'm hoping for some guidance on here from people who have been through it before.

I know that there is a stick and a fairly small black box to operate the membership. First question: if you buy a bundle - the kit plus say a month's pass to Sports - either from NowTV itself or from a retailer like Currys or Amazon and you of course pay for it, does the pass start from the date you pay for it or have you control over activating it when you want? I know that when you buy passes subsequently you have control over when they start and I know daily and weekly passes simply expire when their time is up.

As Martin is a Man City fan as I am - I was born a few miles away from his place of birth! - this may be a topic close to his heart so I'm hoping for news of any introductory offers for NowTV, separately or in the weekly e-mail.

I only want this device for Sports, I was with SKY some years ago but am no longer and I won't want Netflix, box sets, etc. I don't have SKY broadband.

The NowTV Community looks as if it could be helpful and there are people on there who believe that there may be a big special offer for the start of the season. But it looks as if you can only join the Community by starting a deal, and that's too early for me! I will have to check as an outsider.

TIA

You put the enclosed passes on the account and when you start watching they start. Passes are sometimes on offer in the supermarkets etc and on Zeek and NowTV websites.

Netflix is not due until later this year and will require different passes or subscription etc. Box sets require the Entertainment pass, so if you don't have the requires passes you won't get those services. You don't need Sky BB any ISP should work.

There are rumours of an EPL pass similar to the nine month F1 pass (but covered all sports) earlier this year, but still just rumours. I found it cheaper to buy weekly Sports passes when on offer than the F1 pass personally. And for football matches for a particular club, Sports day passes might also work out cheaper.

You realise that "Martin" sold this site some years ago and has precisely zero influence over what offers appear in the E-Mail MSE send using his name?

Do also note that the beginning of the football season is a period when there is usually a rush of new customers, so there is no real incentive for (generous) special offers at this time of year.
