MPPI claim questionnaire

I!!!8217;ll fill in the form as honestly as possible and see what comes of it, just to satisfy my own curiosity.
If you took this mortgage out only eight years ago there will still be records even if you have paid off the mortgage. Why not simply ask the Bank directly if you have PPI on your mortgage? If they reply in the affirmative you can then go on to make a far more compelling complaint safe in the knowledge that at least you are actually complaining about something you actually had!0 -
I must admit, I!!!8217;m still somewhat confused why they!!!8217;ve sent me a form if I!!!8217;ve got no grounds for a claim.
They haven't even checked yet. Rather than check you had it first, you went straight to a complaint. However, from what you say, its unlikely you gave any complaint reasons. So, the first thing they do is send you the form to give your complaint reasons.
Once you send that form back, they will then check.Surely it would be less admin and paperwork for them to simply check the account and write back and say !!!8211; NO PPI, go away!!
No. Its quicker for them to send you the form first rather than pass an incomplete complaint to one of their complaints team. Also, the cover letter reads !!!8220;I understand you have a concern about your MPPI and the way it was sold to you. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!!!8221;. This wording seems odd if I don!!!8217;t actually have any PPI, don!!!8217;t you think?
Not odd at all. You have raised a complaint about misselling of PPI. They are responding acknowledging the complaint you have made. This is all standard text you would expect.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. I had PPI on my mortgage which was organised by a broker and the full PPI payment was added to the mortgage, so don't assume you didn't have it because you weren't making monthly payments to an insurance company.0

Are we saying that sending speculative claims is frowned upon, on here? I noticed someone in another thread had a similar query, didn't know if they had PPI etc etc..0

I guess it depends on whether you consider a fraudulent complaint to be fraudulent or not.
However, in this case, I think the point is that you have gone straight to a complaint without actually knowing whether you have it or not and therefore haven't supplied any info. The bank want the info so they can see why you think it was missold.
Once they have that info, it is at that point it is passed to a complaints handler and the check will be made to see if you have it or not.
Whereas had you checked first to see if you had it (such as phoning their PPI line), the person on the phone would check to see if it existed and if it did then they would take your complaint reasons over the phone. If it didnt exist they would tell you that and you can end it there.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. I agree with what your saying, apart from the "fraudulent" part - where is the fraud?0

I was specifically answering the question in isolation and not the wider scenario we have covered on the thread:
Are we saying that sending speculative claims is frowned upon, on here?
A try-it-on without any basis in an attempt to get money out of them is fraud is it not?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Did not know if I had it, certain I didn't pay for it...but I'll put in a try on complaint in anyway. There's a cost that has to borne for these speculative chancers.0

That was a bad broker. MPPI should always be monthly premium. Single premium MPPI is considered a missale in over 95% of cases. However, no banks retailed single premium MPPI and the OP has confirmed that it was direct with a bank.
I also had a Personal Loan for the Halifax in 2000 and a single premium of !!!65505;3394.20 was added to the loan !!!129325;0 -

That's not MPPI, that's loan PPI and wrong (as in miss-sold) either waySam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
