    Afternoon all
This morning I stripped the bed , washed the bedding and hung it on the whirly, before we went out as the weather forecast was for dry but overcast weather. How wrong could it be ? We have had drizzle, rain and a torrential down pours. So the bedding is still out, because it's wetter now than when it came out of the machine . Oh well it can stay out now, it may brighten up.( says she hopefully )
Mr Fix It wanted to visit the timber yard again, I'm sure we have shares in that business :rotfl:. Then on our way home we called into DD's to put the rubbish / recycling boxes out. I shall put ours out later too and check for more blackberries, if I can dodge the rain :(. Can I put an order in for some sunshine please ?
This afternoon I am going to give the bedroom a good clean and remake the bed as it has only had a lick and a promise during the hot weather. Mr Fix It has disappeared as " the shed needs tidying again ". I believe he must have the tidiest shed in the UK  . I think he's just trying to get out of my way, before I give him something to do :rotfl:.
Tea tonight will be the LO pork in black bean sauce, with either rice or chips and banana split for pudding. ( there are some bananas in the fruit bowl that need eating up )
Judi nice to have you back, sorry about your hols.
TA and Mr TA you are in my thoughts today. I think waiting for the results is horrible time. Sending much love and hope xx
Csarina I hope that they can get to the bottom of your OH's problems, sending you both extra hugs
Gers take care of yourself too. Mum is lucky to have such a lovely daughter and I'm sure you will do your utmost for her.
Right I'm off to make a start on the bedroom, because the rain is bouncing off the patio now :mad:. So much for me hoping for a dry spell to get the washing in :rotfl:.

    Take care all
    nan xx

Sorry about my moan this morning.

Well my hubby is in hospital for the night. It is an abscess in his throat. They were going to send him home with antibiotics, but they have now decided to treat with a steroid drip.

I am taking his overnight bag in shortly. Managed to do a little paper work .

    Afternoon everyone

Finished a set of 5 x 12 hour shifts this morning, slept till lunchtime so hopefully will sleep tonight. I have been reading along.

Next few days will be spent catching up with chores, doing some running, meeting friends to go to a gin festival after having lunch, then back to work Friday.

Ds2 has got himself a job but not doing what he was studying at college, he travels on the bus 90 minutes each way, as he says he just wants to show that he is prepared to work.

Booked holiday for September to Spain in the resort where El Cid & parts of game of thrones was filmed. Looking forward to a relaxing break.

Redruby - thanks for thinking of me, hope your dd gets a moving date soon.
Mr & Mrs TA thinking of you both
Csarina - hope your dh starts to feel better and the hospital find out what!!!8217;s wrong. Very worrying for you.
Gers - hope your dm feels better.
I love comps - hope your dh antibiotics start to work, sounds very painful.

Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care

Got to Dds and it was still drizzling a bit but its eventually dried up and my washing got a good blow on the line so thats sorted and will take it home to iron later.

DGS Henry had an interview for a part-time job in Mr Ts at weekends but he said there were lots of 'grown-ups' (he is 17 and in 6th form) so he's not got his hopes up ,he will find out tomorrow how he's got on.

Pottered about at DDs all day just tidying up etc after the weekend, now just relaxing with a cuppa made by my DGS Mikey.

Speky you obviously have mede a good impression on TGFW, don't knock it :) ,but tell her you want to be friends first, and you don't want to rush things .Honesty is the best policyin all relationships ,even friendships.

Hope our poorly folk are OK <<hugs>> to you all and your carers

    JackieO xx
  • Just back from visiting OH. He is slightly better, they had him sitting out in a chair and he was still there when I left. I did notice that when the headache spiked, thats when he seemed not to be able to speak properly, no idea if the two are connected.

I took him melon and also made him eat an orange, he eats quite a bit of fruit at home, aids digestion if you know what I mean.

Waiting for the support worker to come she said she would pop in later this afternoon, she often comes in on her way home, lives in the next but one village.

So I am slightly happier about OH, Dr told him this morning that he will be in for a few more days, guess he might get out by the weekend.

Well, the nurse arrived at about 11a.m. so I was able to zoom off after she left to drive home. Had about half an hour there - opened the post, pulled some weeds (back garden needs some serious attention) and picked up a few odds and sods to bring here, including my own laptop and swimming kit.

I had prepared food for DM, little tiny sandwiches and a selection of her favourite salads as well as a flask of tea and wee bottle of milk. The drive up was lovely, my wee place is fine and the drive back was horrendous as there were plenty of tourists just idling along and then I hit rush hour from Arrochar through Dumbarton!

Anyway, both DM and I survived.

Csarina - I hope there's more definite news about your OH.

TA - ditto! News is always better than worry.

Anyway, we get back to mine and she gives me my birthday presents, which included a very expensive bottle of aftershave and an overnight stay down in London. While I really appreciate the sentiment and the thought, I couldn't help but think it was a bit much so early. We went for dinner, had a few drinks and it was a really good night. Pencilled in to see her again on Saturday.

RR - Do you often get random vegetables sat at your front door?
    .

Slight alarm bells are ringing with me, that is a very expensive set of gifts from someone you have only been out with a couple of times, If you were my son I would advise that you took this very very slowly, they are lovely gifts but maybe six months a year down the line they would be far more appropriate, be careful xx

And yes I often come home to a gift of veg on my doorstep :rotfl: I sometimes have to guess who has left what :D OH and I are quite friendly though and have a lot of friends in the village xx

I often leave unwanted allotment marrows on the front step of a neighbour who helps run a local weekly soup kitchen.
