Thanks. So from 46p to £1.50 next week? Ouch.

When I arrive in Switzerland, I get an SMS saying:I get similar messages in other European countries. It would be curious almost beyond belief if UK>CH calls were to cost 46p/£1.50 at the same time as CH>UK calls cost 3p.
    Yep, 46p to £1.50, Shocking!
And yes, to call any EU country will cost you 3p/min when you are roaming(not in UK).

As others have said, the whole point is to be able to travel anywhere in Europe and not pay more than you would to make a local call in UK, be it a mobile or landline. The one thing the regulations don't control is the costs of calling another EU country from your home country.
  • On the Ringo app, calling from the UK to Switzerland land lines is 0.59p per minute, plus your network charge at 3p/min on 3 PAYG. The network charge is zero if you have "unlimited" UK calls.

In the meantime, I'll take ... another look at Togglemobile
      UK>CH 3p or 9p (calculator currently offline)
In the interests of accuracy and complete information, here is Toggle's response to my query:

    For UK to Switzerland:

    Making calls : 0.28 £/min
    Local calls:0.03 £/min
    Receiving calls: 0.01£/min

    For Switzerland to UK:

    Making calls : 0.28 £/min
    Local calls: 0.28 £/min
    Receiving calls: 0.07 £/min

    For Switzerland to Switzerland :

    Making calls: 0.28 £/min
    Local calls: 0.28 £/min
    Receiving calls: 0.07 £/min

So it's got worse, from 3p to 28p. I think Switzerland was previously included as part of Toggle's EU/EEA roaming area, but not now: http://www.togglemobile.co.uk/PDFs/uk/Roaming-UK.pdf

And they are now charging to RECEIVE calls, at least in the UK and Switzerland according to their e-mail.

I recognise that Switzerland may not be everybody's main concern, but it's important for us. And we have a permanent Swiss number with them. Looks like we may be looking elsewhere.

    Thanks for this.

Any tips for calling Swiss mobiles?

    Ringo shows this:

    Lycatel Mobile 4.34 Penny/min
    4.97 Penny/min
    4.04 Penny/min

Our family is mainly with Swisscom, so I guess they're included in All Mobiles. 24p/min looks expensive.

    Thanks.
  • I have been GoRoaming for a month in Switzerland Thats unlimited calls and metered data. So far my service has been suspended 5 times each time for making a call for less than 90 mins.
Each time my service is suspended my phone signal goes to 'no service' so i am required to seek another internet source to contact three to reconnect my service. the chat takes an hour as i go through their system.
Hopeless service. If you wish for a inconvenient and frustrating experience, here it is.i

You posted this in another thread.

Double posting is not generally approved of. That's why I'm not repeating my response.
