This all looks quite 'aggressive' to me.
It was you who claimed you could find the ACER Chromebook for under £200. Of course if it is not 'as new' with at a least 12 month warranty, we are not comparing like with like.

Contrary to your assertion, I have no dog in the fight. I am simply putting forward an argument so that the OP can get the most for her money.
It is you who came up with baseless statements such as me 'hating Chromebooks' and you who seem to be descending further into an unpleasant ways of communication.

We are all(and this includes you) doing our best to help the OP. Having a different point of view does not change that.
So stop taking it so personally and reacting so badly.
We all support each other here.

See you've gone all pink and fluffy now. Thats more like it

Haven't changed at all. All occurring in your head. Don't attribute your negative thoughts and feelings to other people.
I'm always helpful. Taking part in a debate is not aggression, nor is it personal.
So your words above perhaps apply to you. ;)

If the op would find it useful and asks, I can post a link

There have been 641 views as I type. Maybe some of those readers would like a link. And when you're arguing with someone about something, you would do well to open yourself up to scrutiny. Since we've gone so far down this path, and for my own curiosity, I'd love to see a link.

For the record, I'm interested in Chromebooks but they're often just a bit too low spec for me to justify the spend. I've defended them plenty against out of date advisors telling people they can't save things locally etc when that is completely out of date. It's just a quest for accurate information, for people to base their opinions on...

How would this be for the OP? Seems like a decent spec for the money these days with room for upgrades in the future if desired.

Nope. No SSD and not keen on HP consumer gear anyway.

Hi, I am looking for a laptop for basic browsing, and photo storage.
A backlit keyboard would be great too.
Hey SnowWhiter, how many photos are you storing? Is is just a browser or need a number cruncher too? what about films? Doing documents, or spreadsheets? What about online storage for photos? Editing photos? Music? How much do you want to store and are you happy with possibly less documents, music, photos and films than you can store on a mobile? Will you need to print stuff? Must the information be always available, or are you willing to go to the nearest wifispot to get some items?
