    Really, the OP may have installed other things than microsoft they may have used ccleaner perhaps to delete them, or created specific ones for some task. they they were doing. You can't have restore points beyond the last feature update(i.e.) 1803 that is why sensible people use proper system image creating software

    I can't remember however the restore dates were few and recent.

    If necessary I have a backup image on another hd.

    I did more than attempt clearing the print queue and rebooting.

    (PS. I hate printers). Should be easy with a cable though...
    0. unplug printer
    1. type control panel in Cortana/search
    2. view devices and printers
    3. right-mouse-click ALL HP print devices and remove device
    4. reboot (NOT SHUTDOWN but RESTART)
    5. after its started up plug in printer and cross your fingers...

    You can always download HP print and scan doctor which will hopefully sort out your problembs.
