Upgrading a Nationwide FlexBasic Account

@lynxptc there must be more than a couple of defaults or is it you think you won't get accepted because NW won't automatically upgrade you?
I've opened up current accounts, obtained cheque books, got a sub-prime then mainstream credit card with defaults and at the time an outstanding CCJ.
I've also recently obtained a mortgage, albeit a sub-prime lender.
Why not try another bank? Get the current account open, then after a few months of using it request a cheque book, that's what I did with the last one I opened.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
They'll issue you with a counter cheque if you like via post or in branch, I use that rather than use a personal cheque book on my account.Fighter1986 said:I'll it 18 months and then enquire about an upgrade. There's no features of a full FlexAccount which I actually need although interest from a FlexDirect account would be nice I'm not sure if I'd be happy to sacrifice branch banking privileges to have them.
It's just a symbolic representation of your finances now heading in the right direction I suppose isn't it?
When it comes time I'll post back.
Good luck to everyone else, especially @lynxptc
With the new lower interest rates on credit balances and higher on overdrafts , I wouldn't be that fussed about upgrading tbh.1 -
Thanks for all the replies everyone. I think I probably will stay with Nationwide after all. I guess I just want a normal account like everyone else and I’m just annoyed that when it comes to reviewing the account it’s just computer says no. No human input whatsoever0
