Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
  • I just had to share this thought having read through todays posts - what a funny lot we are eh? Up to nearly 400% in debt and still we laugh...only Brits could be this optimistic! Whoever started this thread - its a great one...

I've just had a go at doing this. Our "only" debts are student loans and a mortgage and that works out as 426% of our joint gross income (mortgage only 359%)

    Really interesting thread though OP
    Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
Initial Mortgage free date - January 2058
    Mortgage as of 1st February 2024 - £159,134.98
    Overpayments to date - £79.62
Current Mortgage free date - January 2058

Currently 128% when i started out it was 177%.
Thank god i've been working on the debt to bring it down and had a good payrise.
The percentage still scares the living daylights out of me, no wonder i have sleepless nights and headaches and slightly high blood pressure.
  • Mine was 127% and now 100%...how B**** depressing is that! I'm now working for interest... I really wish I had skipped this one. Feel quite crappy now.
