Ours is about 15% of our joint income.
Just thought I would quickly add as well - I work as an underwriter, and in general my employers would class 50-60% of your annual salary as a 'reasonable/affordable level of borrowing' (obviously a large number of other factors are taken into account too). Not saying I agree or disagree with this, but just thought it might be of interest .
Interesting

Really like this idea. Have worked it out against my proper salary and have now added it to my sig as it helps me see the amount decrease (hopefully :rotfl: )

NO idea on mine really as I'm SE so it's hard to work out...I've always managed to pay every payment and to make overpayments most months so don't know how to work it out but since being on here and doing everything the MSE way...I should have a comfortable standard of living once debt free.0

At my lbm it would have been 45% of my income, I don't include OH's income, cuz he's not interested in paying debts like I am...
Now its 13% of my income..... that doesn't feel too bad...
