The NHS have already told me that they accept that I have been mis-treated and they made an error in allowing this to go as far as it did without applying for funding.
99.9% of GPs are NOT employed by the NHS.
I'd bet good money yours is employed by a private GP practice0 -

Ok - I dunno, maybe he's one of 0.1% who are.
It doesn't matter though - lots of people were involved between my initial consultation with Dr Idiot, and the day I got the phone call to say the surgery was cancelled, and not one of them picked up on the fact that the funding had not been applied for, and they all DO work for the NHS.0 -

So you have your answers on whether people think the £500 is a fair offer. Case closed with no need for any of the other discussion points you raised re the £4k0 -

That is largely irrelevant. Look you'll be paying an arm and a leg for legal advice, here's some for free:
Just because the lack of funding wasn't picked up earlier doesn't mean that those people are liable.
Unless its their job to check for funding, which I assume happened just before you go the call; they did nothing wrong.
The ward manager wouldn't check for funding, but would check for availability. The surgery team wouldn't check for funding, but would check instruments etc. The receptionist wouldn't check for funding etc.
Do you see what I'm getting at?
BTW your GP isn't one of the 0.1%. That 0.1% are employed usually in minor injury clinics as an alternative to A&E. If you saw your GP at X Y Surgery (for example a converted house) they are most likely employed by that surgery (or a partner of it)0 -
