Iresa ceases trading, move or wait?
Just had an email from Iresa. They have folded and we will be passed on to another company. Wonder who.
Last time I was with a company that went under I think we were passed on to the co-op.
Is it wise do you think to apply to move suppliers now or wait?

The recommended way is to wait till it changes to new supplier then move if your not happy as the supplier who takes over iresa will also pay any credit balance you may have had0 -
I think it's easier for them if we wait but if we get put onto a regular tariff we could lose out financially.0

In theory ,correct BUT many ex customers of GB Energy and Future Energy appear to have had issues with switching early particularly finding out WHO was going to refund credit balances! I'm going to stay put but cancel the DD to IRESA with the bank.
As a matter of interest ,I submitted meter readings after the closure announcement. I have just had an email from IRESA confirming receipt.:) So part of the system is still working!!0 -
I wonder if customers will ever receive compensation from Iresa awarded by the Energy Ombudsman.
I managed to leave them in time and get my £30 compo.
Its probably something that Ofgem should consider as part of Supplier of Last Resort provisions, but it will probably be lost in the noise.
Anyway, I'm now with Tonik - I know that current prices may not be the cheapest but the service is excellent and overall the package meets my requirements.0 -
Got the email so went and compared with other suppliers IRESA still the cheapest. So have now went to account and renewed contract for an other year, hopefully will be honoured. The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0
