Trace debt recovery letter

I have had a postal notification of parking charge and then a parking charge keeper liability letter from PCM before now recieving a letter from Trace debt recovery stating my case is now under review and it is too late to appeal and the next level of dispute resolution is the county court. The fine has gone from the discount of £60 to £100 and now £160.
What are your recommendations?

Read Post 4 of the Newbies Sticky please - it covers debt collectors in their entirety, so people don't have to start yet another thread about them!

Debt collectors/TRACE do nothing so ignore them.

But read any Gladstones PCM threads to see what happens and how we see people win 99% of the time when they try a small claim (really no biggie, no CCJ as long as you don't ignore it).

AND now send PCM your new address and confirm it is the address for service. DO THAT NOW, to avoid Gladstones/PCM filing a claim at the old address.

Keep a free certificate of posting and not 'signed for/recorded'!

Do NOT pay the scam. We almost always win, and you are also likely to win in the end as long as they have the right address confirmed by you so that you don't miss a claim form. DO NOT assume because they've traced your new address that they 'know it' and will use it.

Also read the second post of the 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST' sticky thread.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • Thanks for getting back, and i have read the Newbies sticky, and post four. Wasn't sure about your comment about sending through new address as haven't moved.
What i am unsure about, as post 4 tells you to ignor the letter, which I have and those before it, is if i should have done the first appeal or second stage appeal and as registered keeper i am now too late to do anything or see if it blows away.

#4 in the FAQ is advice on what to do about debt collectors!

Nowhere here are you advised to ignore the initial PCN

Though now you look to be too late to do any appeal.

You now wait and maybe you will get a letter from
    the incompetent Gladstones

If that happens, come back here

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the House of Commons recently

    http://parliamentlive.tv/event/index/2f0384f2-eba5-4fff-ab07-cf24b6a22918?in=12:49:41 recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • I have had 6 separate fines come through from Trace for a car park that I have a pass for which is always on view and my company pay monthly for the space. What should I do? Contact them or leave it? Thanks in advance.
