You call yourself risk averse egamar? I hope its only a small stake you have.0

I have no idea what an NRK is, nor a desire to know, but if I'd had that much money (£315,000) I'd not have taken a punt on a single vehicle, I'd have had an IFA and taken their advice!Obviously I should have bought 10K of NRK at £10 then 10K at £8 then 10K at £6 then 10K at £4 then 10K at £3 then 10K at £2 then 10k at £1.500 -
It has further to fall yet, I think.
Even more reason to sell and do something else with your money........IMO
But then again I can't sit still for a moment :j :j'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
I dont have a IFA I make my own decisions.
A NRK is northern rock

Tiny.
It's my Standard Life Property fund that's a bigger chunk - and not doing well either! Still it's up 14% since September 05 and it's a 10-15 year hold, so I'm OK with it.
My Fidelity Global Property Fund is down 3% since Feb 06, but it'll come back in due course.0 -
The OP was asking what he should do with an existing investment, he was not talking about a new investment. The same advice is not necessarily valid in both cases.
Not necessarily...............but often it is
The way I would look at it is;
I have £ X ( the current value of the fund ) to Invest
Where is the best place to put it ?
I always look at my portfolio that way.....unless I am confident that it's a good investment and will make money then it goes
Holding onto something you are not sure about is the riskiest strategy for me
I am assuming the OP isn't confident or sure of the Investment or the post wouldn't have been made.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
I never plug money into a falling market unless im absolutly sure its going to turn around. Even then you can think its going to turn around and you can call it wrong for example if you bet on the nikkei going up with some money from a account labelled "88888" and then there was a sunami.0
