Morning all
Thanks for the thread Holly, belated happy B'day Specky, well done Dumpling, hugs for Gers, the TA's and anyone else in need.
I haven't posted for a couple of days, been too busy with various amounts of carp that are being thrown in my directions.
We are moving today, setting off towards Devizes, I can't say I'm looking forward to it is this heat the locks and bridges are going to be real struggle.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning everyone
We were forecasts storms in the night too, but they didn't materialise. More forecast for this afternoon, so we'll wait and see.
Had a lovely day out in Newcastle yesterday with eldest DD for her 22nd birthday. Had a nice wander round shops, then lunch at Pizza Express followed by Mamma Mia 2, which we both thoroughly enjoyed. I bought some lovely black boots in TK Maxx for the winter....they were marked £68.99 but I paid just £19.99 so I was very happy. I have a thing for black ankle boots....so another pair for my collection!
After the cinema we walked down to the Quayside and spent a lovely hour or so sitting in the sunshine with cocktails and snacks. It was such a good day.
Well I'm going to go down to my mam and dads for an hour. Eldest DD has a 2nd interview by Skype for a job in London she'd love to get.....so she wants the house to herself. She has to give a presentation on some designs she had to do for them....not sure how it works via a laptop...but she does so that's all that matters!
Hope everyone has a good day0 -

DM update - she's sitting up, eating, reading the paper, half watching TV and ordering me around! It's amazing what a couple of doses of potassium supplements can do.
Her 'recovery' made me think of when just calved cows collapse after giving birth birth and the vet administers some drug and cow recovers in five minutes. NOT that I'm comparing my DM with a cow  just the speed of the drug taking effect. :rotfl:
I've been out into the hot, sticky and humid air for some shopping and a wee coffee. Today I can breathe a bit easier - touch wood.
Hester - I read this morning about the sea canal where I live having movement restrictions because of lack of water. Minimum of two vessels per lock and so on.
Think I'm going to pick up a book now.0 -
Afternoon all
It's overcast here but still very muggy. We are both struggling for breath and coughing, I have also lost my voice, that makes Mr Fix It a happy boy. I hope we get some rain, even if it only puts out the mountain fires ( another one has been started deliberately  ) but it looks like it will go either side of us
.
We went to town this morning, via the surgery, to get bread, ice cream and decaf coffee. It wasn't that busy which is unusual for Friday. We met a neighbour so stopped for a chat, we don't see so much of him now he's dogless. He was always either walking with his dog, his daughter's dog or one of his DGC. He looked very poorly and thin, but said his wife was still working and she's over 80 .
I might just sit this afternoon as we seem to have been "on the go" since our holidays.
Tea tonight will be a fruity rice salad with the LO chicken and pudding will be strawberries and cream / ice cream.
Holly I hope you feel better soon.
Gers I hope the DR can sort out your Mum's meds soon. I shall send her healing thoughts.
Hester are you going up the Caen Hill Locks ? They look daunting.
Dumpling well done. Keep up the good work lovely :T
TA hope everything is ok. Thinking of you and Mr TA.
I have forgotten who said whatso I shall send everyone and their families healing vibes and many gentle hugs.
Take care all.

Afternoon all
Out early again with the pooch,& she was very reluctant at first but was better once we got under the trees,(so was I :rotfl:)Then I caught the early bus to pick up a few bits from town.I did intend to do some ironing when I got back but DS said DGS was arriving at 12.15( any excuse) so am currently doing dinosaur jigsaws. He has just got back fom a few days in a caravan with Mum ,Stepdad and baby.Looks like they all had a good time
,Ds kept up to date on FB but we all missed him.
I cooked a chicken in the Remoska earlier so that's all ready for tea.
We may have a stroll to the park if DGS wants to,there are a few clouds coming over now so hopefully it won't be as fierce in the sun.
Dumpling,:T that's fantastic.it gives you an incentive to carry on doesn't it? Well done!
Glad to hear your Mum is doing better after the potassium,Gers.
I love comps sorry you're feeling a bit emotional selling Mums house, never an easy task.
Hope you all have a good afternoon xxx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Dumpling
You have done fantastically well and should give yourself a pat on the back.
Happy Birthday Speky and enjoy the weekend.
Gers
I am so glad your Mum is feeling better and the medication is working.
There was a short thunderstorm this morning with some rain but it still seems very hot so I am sitting near a fan with my feet up. No word yet from DD but I plan to make some more of the granola bars she and SIL love.
A grocery delivery has just been unpacked and then I realised I needed foil and non stick baking paper so went to the local shop for them.
I had a late breakfast of low cal bacon and egg with my two small pieces of toast and have just had a chicken breast with green beans. Not sure whether to risk hanging some bedding out or not and might just drape things over radiators.
Hugs to all0 -
Gers so glad your DM has perked up. I am having difficulty imagining Glasgow as hot as it has been. Why did that never happen in the 10yrs I lived there?
Dumpling:j:T:j. Well done. That!!!8217;s brilliant. Keep going!:DGoals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Hi Ya Chums we were forecast rain for 2.00 yet its almost 6.00 and not a sign I hope it doesn't miss us .Extremely warm this afternoon and very sticky and uncomfortable History has finished now until 21st September so my Fridays will be free. I really enjoy them, as we not only earn a great deal we have all known each other for many years and have a lot of laughter s well as HM cakes and tea/coffee.
Speky glad you had a good birthday you are about 6 months younger than my eldest DGS Danny who lives in NYC, I am seriously thinking of going to see him, perhaps when its a bit cooler He messaged me today to say him and his wife went to watch the Yankees last night and almost melted in the humidity, apparently NYC is having a pretty hot heatwave as well.
Gers good that your DM has perked up a bit and hopefully her meds will make her improve even more
So come on chums who is hiding the rain its nowhere near north Kent as yet ???
