Benefit Fraud

We all get what you mean, but just because Amazon & Google screw the tax system it doesn't mean that the layman screwing the benefit system is ok0 -
Good old MSE. On another thread, the OP's daughter got instant dismissal (quite rightly) from her job for stealing 20p from a tips pot showing she was dishonest and a thief. On this thread, the OP discovers their neighbour could (potentially) be claiming hundreds of pounds in benefits which they are not entitled to showing (if this was the case) that they were dishonest and a thief. So they have done the right thing and reported it where it will be looked at and proved or disproved. So why are so many peeps not only making excuses for the neighbour but having a go at the OP? Shame on you that are doing so, dishonest actions are unacceptable. The matter has been passed on and will be looked into. Quite rightly so. I do wonder about the morality of some of the posters on this board. Whether OP's suspicions were right or wrong, they have absolutely done the right thing. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

You'll go round and admit that you were the one who got on the blower possibly after causing all kinds of stress with unfounded allegations.0 -

And where will you stand if I'm right?0 -

This thread needs closing actually. I think the OP is enjoying this pointless disagreement. There is a post right at the top of the board entitled "Its about helping people get their entitlement! Not about benefits policy!"
Maybe go read this.0 -

I agree entirely However what annoys many of us on here is that we know the utter misery that can be caused by a malicious fraud report by people who are not in possession of the full facts.
But I have had my say now and will gracefully depart this thread and who knows it might even get closed !0 -

Not accurate. There is no payment to informants at all.0 -

DWP may send her a letter asking her for a benefit review, They may turn up to her house and do an inspection... If they find her in the wrong am quite sure DWP give civil rewards of upto £50 for grasses.
Even asking if there is a time limit, Is the OP that desperate for the "lady" to be in trouble or not...This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
