Why do you say that?
As the article itself says.“On trustees’ typical pension scheme funding basis, significant deficits remain, and the persistent gap between dividend payments and scheme contributions is likely to be scrutinised more intensely in the wake of the high-profile collapses of Carillion and BHS.”0 -
Or 65-year-old decides to retire.
Abroad like hundreds of thousands of other British citizens already do.
He’s not retiring. He’s quite clearly moving to a country with a lower level of taxation in order to save more money.
Some people call brexiteers patriots but that doesn’t seem massively patriotic to me.0 -

Seems to be the case for some remainers. Voting out of self interest. Rather for the good of everyone.0 -

I voted remain because I feel very strongly that remaining would have been better for the country. I can’t speak for anyone else, remained or leaver.
I am patriotic and feel that everyone should pay their taxes. I put my money where my mouth is by not setting up a limited company when I was recently contracting. This decision meant that I paid several thousand pounds more than I could have but it meant that my conscience remains clear. Not everyone would feel the same but anyone who considers me unpatriotic for voting remain has no idea who I am.0 -

Me too, I'm English first, British second and European a distant third. I thought the Cameron compromise could have gone further but we should have given it a go. I could also see rising discontent within Europe as an opportunity to affect change from within. I voted remain then and would do so again.
Nevertheless I'm not an EU apologist and often find I have more in common with moderate Brexiteers than the extreme end of the remainer spectrum. I don't however see WTO terms in any way desirable and think this should be avoided, not celebrated. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? A prominent brexiteer is so delighted that we’re leaving the EU that he’s moving there.

Agree 100% with you. Unfortunately money seems to be more important these days. Than any sense of patriotism. I'm alright Jack springs to mind. As long as the focus is on GDP and profit, and not people's wellbeing. Then the world will remain in turmoil.0 -

There’s a difference between my finances than those of the government. I’m reasonably comfortable so can afford to stand up for my principles. The country as a whole getting poorer would be a different matter entirely.
The reason why I’m happy to pay my taxes is so that the government can spend it on the NHS/libraries/schools etc. If companies do opt to leave these shores and aren’t sufficiently replaced then we will have less money to spend.
It’s often said by some leavers that the government should ignore what big industry is saying but they are vital to our wellbeing. It’s them that keeps us employed so if some do leave then it’ll hurt.0 -
