Private car park ticket

Hi all a bit of advice wanted.
The wife was in my car and parked in a private car park. She got a ticket when parked but must of put the wrong registration in at the machine.
They sent us a photo and I went online and told them it was not me driving but the wife. They sent her a letter and she posted the ticket with wrong reg to them. I now have had 2 solicitors letters saying I need to pay £160 or court proceedings will begin. The original ticket was £60. Should I pay or just ignore the letters. They are from Gladstone.
Thank you
Mark

Could you give the name of the parking company.

If it is an IPC company, their Chief Adjudicator has already suggested that this sort of ticket should not be chased so it would be useful to know which company / which trade association.

It's a company called Halifax Car Park Management Limited I have googled them and it appears I'm not alone with this company.

Send HX a copy of the Annual Report here

Highlight the comment about trivial errors and suggest they cancel and get all your personal information removed.

Advise them if they are not going to do that then proceed to court where their baseless claims will be challenged. Add that you will be seeking costs under 27.14.2(g) and further contact (apart from cancellation) will indicate their willingness to accept those costs.

I have looked back on the emails that they sent me and they are an IPC Company. Does this change anything.

No, you do exactly as IamEmanresu has already advised. Make sure the driver's identity is not revealed. All contact must be from The Keeper.
I married my cousin. I had to...

If the PPC has acknowledged in writing in any way that your wife was driving, then let Gladstone take you as RK to court. They have no cause of action and you simply need to refer to the correspondence where the PPC has been informed who the driver was.

Are they saying YOU need to pay, o ryour wife?
Do you still jhave the letters they sent to your wife?
If NO, then she MUST SAR them to get copies of these letters. Then, if your answer to my first question is "you", then if you get taken to court, as Guys Dad pointed out, you have a complete defence.

And the photo of my wife driving into the car park is very clearly a lady not a man.
