A timber merchant. If you must use the DIY sheds, I find Wickes to be the best.0

If you have some spare time trawl round the neighbourhood looking for people having loft conversions done - if you are early enough in the process there may be a quantity of very good timber in a skip, usually with some nails in it, but perfectly ok for a workbench.I want to make a workbench where is the cheapest place to buy timber for it's construction?
Ask before you take though, and if you are very lucky you may be rewarded with other offcuts etc
Alternatively, always worth checking sites like Freecycle, and a wanted add may prompt someone to have a clearout of their shed."In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -

I agree with this; but don't order online; you could end up with lengths like bananas. Timber/builders merchants are the best bet.0 -

Sorry Duck but got to disagree with that, I think all Wickes timber is terrible quality, including their sheds. Just my opinion
.
OP do what I do, visit all the local trade stores and compare. Luckily I've got a few around here. The independent ones are also likely to do you a deal.Pants0
