14:03 22Apr09 GBP/USD: 3-Week Low Plumbed Amid Gilt Buyers Strike Fears
[13:02 GBP/USD: 3-Week Low Plumbed Amid Gilt Buyers Strike Fears] London, April
22. Cable has extended south to a three-week low of 1.4435 amid heightened fears
of a gilt buyers strike re: the UK government"s announcement that it plans to
issue GBP 220bn gilts in the 2009/10 fiscal year.
This number is 10% higher than
the GBP 200bn number flagged in today"s FT. As recently as March, the UK DMO said
it would issue GBP 147.9bn gilts in 2009/10.
The bigger-than-expected GBP 220bn gilt issuance number is also perceived to
have increased the risk that the BoE MPC will have to utilize the second GBP 75bn
"reserve" segment of its "Quantitative Easing" Asset Purchase Programme, beyond
the GBP 75bn first segment of the APP scheduled for completion through the middle
of next month.
The IMF forecasts that the UK economy will contract by 4.1% this year, and by
0.4% next year (Reuters). This compares with UK Chancellor Alistair Darling"s
budget forecast of 3.5% UK economic contraction this year, followed by 1.25% UK
economic growth next year. Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk

back over 1.45!!!!
we got a league going here at work with SKY SPORTS
(also free - but we all chipped in a tenner)
i am currently leading by 20 points and i have just 1 transfer left.
(thanks to Torres last night)
bloke in 2nd has used all his up
3rd place is too far behind (i hope)
i have petrov (avl) and murphy (ful) in midfield as my 'cheapo-make-up-the number players'
was thinking of bringing in Osman (eve) in place of murphy, simply because Everton have 1 extra game to play (against chelsea tonight) and they get 1pt just for playing
Osman has 4 goals and 4 assists - 6 games to play
Murphy has 4 goals and 4 assists - 5 games to play
OR
i could bring in Matty Taylor (Bol) in place of Petrov
Taylor has 10 goals and 5 assists this year - 5 games to play
Petrov has 1 goal and 3 assists - 5 games to play
OR
Peter Crouch in place of Robbie Keane (2nd place fella also has Keane), again simply beacuse Portsmouth have 1 extra game (albeit against ManU tonight)
Crouch has 10 goals and 5 assists - 6 games to play
Keane has 8 goals and 7 assists - 5 games to play
i reckon to get full value from this final transfer, with 5 or 6 matches to go, now is about the right time to use it
FA Cup and ECL games do not count
any advice would be greatly appreciated......Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk
