[15:28 GBP/USD: 1.47 Handle Lost After 10am Eastern NY Option Cut] London, April 8.
Cable has lost its 1.47 handle since the 10am Eastern NY option cut, at which
a EUR/GBP 0.9005 option strike rolled off. The strike had a magnetic effect on
the cross into expiry--with buy stops above 0.9015 tripped beyond.
1.4635 (today"s European morning intra-day low, 1.4620, 1.4600, and 1.4583
(yesterday"s late London morning five-day low) are sterling support points.
GBP/USD scaled an intra-day peak of 1.4750 circa 12:30GMT.
The BoE MPC is expected to keep Bank Rate at its current record low of 0.5%
when its two-day meeting concludes at 11:00GMT tomorrow (Thursday). Bank Rate was
