13:38 01Apr09 FX: Stocks knocked back by ADP data

12:37 GMT - Just as the [FTSE AND DAX] were about to trade positively for the first time today, out comes a terrible ADP employment change number knocking 20 to 30 points off stocks in a flash. DJII futures also further in the red now, -104 points, leaving the

FTSE down 40 points at 3886 and the Dax down 45 points at 4039. Bonds,
positive pre-number, added another handful of points after the release,
still trading in very narrow ranges. Gilt futures up 25 ticks at 123.46
and Bund futures up 15 ticks at 124.58. Both contracts now trying to
break out on the upside at 124.66 and 123.50 respectively.
