leapt to a European afternoon/NY session high of 1.4687 on the back of US
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner"s Reuters-reported comment that he is "quite
open" to China"s suggestion of moving towards an SDR-linked currency system. This
was touted by the Chinese Central Bank Governor earlier this week (Monday).

system. The USD took a big hit on the back of that Reuters-reported comment, with
GBP/USD leaping from 1.4577.

well it looks like what he said wasn't too damaging... slipping back down to the old mark by the looks...

basically, he hinted that USD should perhaps not be the worlds reserve currency...... then quickly retracted it... hence the big spike !!:rotfl:

BUT, when he first put his Size 12's on, the rate was 1.4565, and its now at 1.4655, so not too bad...
